The Louisiana Action Coalition held its fifth regional forum on Friday, Oct. 24, in Lake Charles. Approximately 80 nurses and nursing students attended the event where they discussed the future of nursing in southwest Louisiana. The program included a panel discussion with representatives from nursing education, nurse employers, policy makers and health care consumers. Lillee Gelinas, MSN, RN, FAAN, system vice president and chief nursing officer of the clinical excellence services division for CHRISTUS Health, was the keynote speaker.
