The Future of Nursing in Louisiana is a broad, diverse coalition committed to advancing health care by

strengthening the nursing profession. The Louisiana Action Coalition is part of a larger national network called The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. 

AARP Louisiana leads the Louisiana Action Coalition, bringing extensive records of collaboration with large networks in health care.

AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, with a membership of more than 37 million, that helps people turn their goals and

dreams into real possibilities, strengthens communities and fights for the issues that matter most to families such as healthcare, employment and income security, retirement planning, affordable utilities and protection from financial abuse. AARP Louisiana is powered by nearly 500,000 members and works for all generations to live their best lives, independently, in their own homes and communities.

LACANE leads the Louisiana Action Coalition, bringing extensive resources for the improvement and maintenance of nursing education and practice

LACANE, Inc. is recognized as the representative group for issues related to the advancement of excellence in nursing education in Louisiana.

Our Mission is to provide a forum for collaboration among leaders of registered nursing education

in Louisiana to set the agenda for the advancement of nursing education and to serve as the resource regarding issues impacting nursing education.

​The Purpose of LACANE is to promote standards and to develop resources for the improvement and maintenance of nursing education and practice in the state of Louisiana.

Campaign for Action

The Campaign for Action is working on both the national level and in every state, engaging with consumers, nurses, other clinicians, insurers, health care systems, employers, educators, funders, and public policy makers—all the stakeholders who need to be involved in system change.

 

Vision: Everyone in Louisiana has an opportunity to live a healthier life.

Mission: The LAC is the conduit that engages stakeholders, in collaboration with nursing, to achieve a culture of health and health equity in Louisiana.
