Nurse Leader Institute
The Louisiana Action Coalition launched its Nurse Leader Institute in September 2015 and is accepting applications for its next program in September 2022 (NLI 2021 Postponed). The LAC Nurse Leader Institute is a five-day, intensive program to help you develop long-lasting, effective leadership skills.
Mentorship
Those who have completed the five-day LAC Nurse Leader Institute training are eligible to participate in LAC’s Nurse Leader Mentorship program, a nine-month structured program that matches aspiring nurse leaders with mentors who will work one on one with participants.
Nurse Leader Institute Fellows
Those who complete the LAC Nurse Leader Institute and the LAC Nurse Leader Mentorship Program are honored as Nurse Leader Institute Fellows by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.
Board Membership
As part of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, the Louisiana Action Coalition is working to ensure nurses have a voice in the boardroom. To further that goal, 21 national organizations have committed to work together to get 10,000 nurses on boards by 2020.
LAC has partnered with Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA) to increase the number of nurses on boards in Louisiana, facilitate the process and provide education and information to prospective board members.
